Romero had quite a lot on his mind, back in the day: Vietnam, the Kent State shootings, a wicked distrust of the military and the Man in general. Eisner has almost nothing on his mind.. If there's a message in all this, it's buried in blood splatter. Which is fine, but makes The Crazies more disappointing than if it had less lofty goals..
